Storm Battle Black Hawks in Final Game of Weekend

Waterloo, IA. - The Tri-City Storm complete a three-game weekend on the road this afternoon at Young Arena in a matchup against the Waterloo Black Hawks. Tri-City defeated the Omaha Lancers by a final score of 7-2 Friday night at Ralston Arena and recorded a road victory last night over the Sioux City Musketeers by a final score of 3-1. Today's game is the Storm's final trip to Young Arena this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:05pm.

Tri-City (22-12-2-1) battles the Waterloo Black Hawks this afternoon following a 3-1 win last night over the Sioux City Musketeers. Ben Schoen, Gavin Brindley, and Hunter Strand scored the Storm's goals in the win. Todd Scott turned away twenty-one of Sioux City's twenty-two shots on net to record his fourteenth victory of the season in goal. Tri-City improved to 16-3-0-0 when leading after the 1st period and 20-0-0-0 when leading after the 2nd period in last night's road win over Sioux City. Tri-City is 2-1-1-0 in four previous matchups against the Black Hawks this season. Thursday's home game at the Viaero Center will be Tri-City's final head-to-head matchup against Waterloo this season. Tri-City holds a 9-9-3-0 record against Waterloo in matchups over the past five seasons. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering this afternoon's road game at Young Arena include; Carter Mazur (16), Hunter Strand (13), Cole McWard (13), Ben Schoen (13), Rhett Pitlick (11), Mark Estapa (9), and Gavin Brindley (8).

Waterloo (14-22-1-0) hosts Tri-City this afternoon following a 6-2 home victory last night over the Lincoln Stars. The Black Hawks dropped a 7-3 decision to the Stars at the Ice Box on Friday night to begin the three-game weekend. Jacob Jeannette (2), Matthew Argentina, Dane Montgomery, Mason Reiners, and Ryan O'Hara all scored goals for the Black Hawks in last night's home win over the Lincoln Stars. Emmett Croteau recorded the win in goal for Waterloo after making thirty-four saves on thirty-six shots. Waterloo is 7-4-0-0 in home games played against the Storm in head-to-head matchups over the past five seasons. Scoring leaders for the Black Hawks entering today's home game against the Storm include; Owen Ozar (11), Alex Gaffney (11), Max Sasson (10), Ryan O'Hara (9), Wyatt Schingoethe (9), Michael LaStarza (8), and Kyler Kleven (8). Following today's home game against the Storm, Waterloo returns to action again on Thursday in a road game at the Viaero Center against Tri-City.
