Storm Add Forward Adam Klapka to Roster

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm has added forward Adam Klapka to its active roster ahead of tonight's road game against the Sioux City Musketeers. At 6'8'', 250 lbs., Klapka is the largest prospect in the world eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft. He will wear #15 for Tri-City this season.

Adam Klapka, 19, of Prague, Czech Republic joins Tri-City following thirty games played with HC Benatky nad Jizerou this season. Klapka scored five goals and recorded one assist this season with HC Benatky nad Jizerou. He also appeared in five games with Bili Tygri Liberec U20 this season, scoring four goals and recording two assists. In international play, Klapka represented his home country at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Last season, he netted fifteen goals and recorded twenty-three assists in sixty-one games with Bili Tygri Liberec U20 & HC Benatky nad Jizerou. In 2017-2018, he finished second on HC Slavia Praha U18 in scoring. Klapka scored thirty-two goals and recorded fourteen assists in thirty-six regular season games. In 2015-2016, Klapka was the leading scorer for HC Slavia Praha U16. He notched thirty-two goals and registered twenty-seven assists in thirty-eight games played.

When Klapka hits the ice with the Tri-City Storm, it is believed that he will be the largest player to ever compete in an USHL game (1979-Present). At 6ft8, 250 lbs., Klapka stands just one inch shorter than Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins, the largest player to ever appear in an NHL game (1917-Present). He is one inch taller, and approximately thirty pounds heavier than current HBC Heavyweight Champion of the World, Professional Boxer Deontay Wilder. Klapka is two inches taller and approximately twenty-five pounds heavier than 2014, 2019 NBA Champion and 2014, 2019 NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers.
