Guelph Storm News Release
(Guelph) Storm General Manager Mike Kelly has announced that the Storm has acquired defenceman Saverio Posa from the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for a 4th round selection (SAG) in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.
Posa, a native of Grand Blanc, MI won the 2010 Memorial Cup with the Sptifires. The 5'10 defenceman was named captain of Windsor to start the 2012-13 season. In 38 games this year, the 20 year old has 10 points.
"Saverio is a player that adds a veteran presence to our defence core and one we have long admired," Said GM Mike Kelly. "A member of both the last Spitfire Memorial Cup winning team, he has significant playoff experience and leadership qualities as he was the captain of the Spitfires this 2012-13 season."
In a related move, the Storm has also released overage goaltender Keegan Wilson. Posa, born in 1992, is an overage player and since only three spots per team exist, Wilson was released to make room for the defenceman.
Catch Posa in game action on Friday as he will join the rest of his new teammates as they take on the Eastern leading Barrie Colts at the Sleeman Centre at 7:30pm.
