Brandon, MB. -- CaptainMark Stone will be hoping to do something Saturday night that no Brandon Wheat King has done in fifteen years.

Thanks to a 5-point performance Friday night in a 6-1 Brandon victory over the visiting Prince Albert Raiders, the 19-year old Ottawa Senators' prospect moved to within a single point of the 100-point plateau with 38 goals and 99 points.

Not only did that move him five points up on Tri-City'sBrendan Sininniman in the Western Hockey League scoring race, it gives the 19-year old Winnipegger the opportunity to become the first Wheat King to record back to back 100-point seasons sincePeter Schaefer did it in 1995-96 and '96-97.

After scoring 47 goals and 108 points in '95-96, Schaefer went on to be named WHL Player of the Year the following season after scoring 123 points, including 49 goals. With a 5-point lead with less than a month remaining in the regular season, Stone is also looking to become the first Wheat King in seven years to capture the Western League scoring title. Right-wingerEric Fehr, who is currently with the National Hockey League's Winnipeg Jets, was the last Brandon player to do it - scoring 59 goals and 111 points during the 2004-05 campaign.

While Stone was busy collecting points Friday, linemateMichael Ferlandwas busy having a strong night of his own - finishing the game with two goals and 3 points to climb into 8th place in the WHL scoring race with 36 goals and 78 points.
