Stone Crabs Cruise Past Mets, 12-1

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs cruised to a 12-1 win over the St. Lucie Mets on Saturday at Charlotte Sports Park.

The Stone Crabs scored 11 of their runs in the first five innings. Leadoff hitter Thomas Milone went 4 for 5 with a triple, two runs and a RBI. No. 9 hitter Mac Seibert was 3 for 5 with two RBI and a run. Garrett Whitely went 3 for 4 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Charlotte pounded out 18 hits.

Mets starter Kyle Wilson was tagged for six runs and 13 hits over three innings. Reliever Carlos Hernandez allowed five runs in 1.2 innings.

Charlotte long reliever Stephen Woods, Jr. got the win. He did not allow a hit or run in 4.1 innings.

The Mets offense produced six hits. Matt Winaker went 1 for 4 with a triple and a RBI.

Quinn Brodey's nine-game hitting streak was snapped. He was 0 for 3 with a walk.

Carlos Cortes extended his hitting streak to six games by going 1 for 4.

Jeremy Vasquez was 1 for 3 with a single and a walk.

Blake Tiberi doubled to lead off the game. It was the 20th straight game the Mets popped an extra base hit.

The Stone Crabs improved to 5-0 vs. St. Lucie this season. They have outscored the Mets 32-6 in the five games.

The Mets (26-28) and Stone Crabs (29-26) conclude their series at Charlotte Sports Park on Sunday. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m.
