Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Kings (23-15), the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, beat the Oklahoma City Blue (25-14), the NBA G League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-105.
Stockton Kings guard Matt Jones helped secure the win with a 3-point shot a minute remaining in regulation. Jones had a game-high of 24 points, and six rebounds.
In the first half, Oklahoma guard Bryce Alford scored 14 of his 22 points. Stockton assignment player Caleb Swanigan posted 17 of his 19 points to help Kings lead at the half 61-56. Stockton saw their biggest lead of the night at the 3:39 mark in the third quarter, where they led by 16 points. Oklahoma cut the lead down to one point with 1:26 remaining in regulation. Stockton two-way forward Troy Williams added to the lead with a dunk, with 13.9 seconds remaining in regulation to put the Kings up by four points.
Stockton saw six players in double-figures. Two-way forward Wenyen Gabriel and Swanigan combined for 29 points off the bench. Swanigan posted a double-double for the second game in a row with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Stockton guard Matt Jones had a game-high of 24 points and six rebounds. Williams contributed 23 points, and eight rebounds.
Alford led Oklahoma in scoring with 22 points. Oklahoma center Kevin Hervey contributed 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
The Stockton Kings will continue their home stretch as they host the Northern Arizona Suns Saturday, February 23 for Video Game Night at the Stockton Arena at 7 p.m. More than 100 local teens will arrive to the arena early to play NBA 2K with professional NBA 2K players from the Sacramento Kings Guard. The Stockton Kings will wear special video game themed jerseys. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the jersey's during the game and all proceeds will benefit the Teen Impact Center and Lord's Gym City Center. This game can viewed via Facebook Live.
The team will play three home games next week, beginning on Tuesday, February 26, when they will host the Texas Legends at 7 p.m. This game can be viewed via ESPN+. On Thursday, February 28, Stockton will host "Legends Night" to honor Sacramento Kings greats, as they play the South Bay Lakers at 7 p.m. Former Sacramento Kings players Vlade Divac, Doug Christie and Bobby Jackson will be in
attendance. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Kings Legends bobblehead. Stockton will debut throwback Kings jerseys from Sacramento's 2001-02 season. This game can be viewed via ESPN+.
