Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Sweep Weekend Heading Into All-Star Break

The South Carolina Stingrays completed a three-in-three home weekend against the Kalamazoo Wings and Gwinnett Gladiators for a week record of 3-0-0-0. The Stingrays welcomed the Wings to North Charleston Coliseum for the first time in team history on Friday night and skated away with a 3-0 shutout. Stingrays goaltender Shane Connelly stopped all 39 Wings shots and forwards Darren Reid, Jake Hauswirth and Rob Ricci lit the lamp in the victory. The two teams squared off again on Saturday with the Stingrays prevailing 4-1. Forward Michael Dubuc netted a pair of goals while forward Keith Johnson added a power-play marker and Spencer Carbery a shorthanded tally. The Stingrays wrapped up the weekend on Sunday against the Gladiators. Stingrays rookie Trevor Bruess recorded his first professional hat trick and goaltender Parker Van Buskirk earned his first win as a Stingray in route to a 5-4 overtime victory. Ricci scored three points (1g, 2a) in the contest including the game-winner at 2:02 of the extra session.
