
Everblades Post Perfect Week at 3-0-0 to Finish Road Trip 6-3-2

The Florida Everblades won their third straight game to finish off their season-high, 11-game road trip at 6-3-2. Florida was perfect this week beating Reading and Trenton twice. The Everblades needed two shootouts to secure victories in Reading and Trenton before winning in regulation Saturday in Trenton. Three straight wins matches a season-high for the club.
The Everblades return home after a month and three days as they battle the Gwinnett Gladiators for the first time at home in Germain Arena. The Zooperstars will be performing on Friday, January 22 and it's "Pack the House" night. The Gladiators and Everblades meet on Saturday night and the Wendy's mini-mites will be performing.

Wednesday, January 13 @ Reading, Sovereign Center, 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The final meeting of the regular season and the second straight meeting in Reading's Sovereign Center. The Everblades got revenge from Sunday in Reading as they skated to a 2-1 victory via a shootout. Barry Brust stopped all seven Royals in the shootout, while Kevin Baker was the Everblades lone scorer in seven tries. Brust stopped 20-21 shots and seven of seven in the shootout to record the win for Florida, who improved to 2-3-0 this season versus Reading.
Friday, January 15 @ Trenton, Sun National Bank Center, 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: Florida secured their second straight victory via the shootout with a come-from-behind 4-3 decision. 2008-09 ECHL MVP Kevin Baker led the way with a goal and two assists, plus was one of two Everblades to score in the shootout. Barry Brust recorded his third straight win in a 'Blades sweater, stopping four of five shooters in the shootout.
Saturday, January 16 @ Trenton, Sun National Bank Center, 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: Florida finished off their road trip in style with an impressive 3-1 win over the Trenton Devils. The Everblades captured two wins in Trenton and have now won three straight. Barry Brust stopped 25 shots to record his fourth win in a row in net and Jordan Morrison fired in the game winner on the power play two minutes into the third period. Trenton and Florida meet three more times in Florida at the end of January concluding their five-game regular season series.

GAME NOTES: Tonight's game marks the first game after the ECHL All Star break and the first game between the two clubs in Florida this season. Florida is unbeaten in the last three meetings with (2-0-1) Gwinnett. Mike Morrison has been the goaltender of record in all four meetings with Gwinnett this season with every game taking place on the road. Overall, the Everblades are 2-1-1 against the Gladiators.
Saturday, January 23 vs Gwinnett, Germain Arena, 7:30PM
GAME NOTES: The second of back-to-back meetings this season in Germain Arena and sixth meeting of 14 scheduled battles in the regular season. Mike Morrison has been the goaltender of record for all four games played so far in this series. He has posted a record of 2-1-1 with a goals against of 2.49 and save percentage of .925. Kevin Baker leads Florida scorers with two goals and three assists in four games.

Goaltender Barry Brust posted back-to-back shootout wins last week to help the Everblades improve to a perfect 3-0-0 on the week. Brust stopped 20 of 21 against his former team in Reading Pennsylvania and was a perfect seven for seven in the shootout to ensure the 2-1 victory for Florida. He came back the next night to stop four of five in the shootout while stopping 21 of 24 in regulation in overtime. Finally his lone regulation win came at the hands of Trenton on Saturday, 3-1. The Swan River Manitoba native stopped 25 of 26 in the 'Blades third straight win.

After being held scoreless on Wednesday night in a 2-1 win in Reading, Baker was the only player to score in the shootout to help the Everblades secure the victory. On Friday, Baker recorded his first multiple point game since November 27 in Toledo with a three-point effort (1g, 2a) and scored in the shootout for the second straight game. On Saturday in Trenton, Baker's assist set up teammate Mike Bayrack for the game tying goal for Florida.
