TUESDAY: ORLANDO SOLAR BEARS 6, SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 2

(North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston, SC)

The Orlando Solar Bears scored four times in the second period to take control of the game and earn a 6-2 win over the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum on Tuesday night. South Carolina got goals from forwards Steven McParland and Marcus Perrier in the loss. For both, it was their first tally of the season. McParland finished with a team-high two points, as he also assisted on Perrier's strike.

THURSDAY: SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 2, ELMIRA JACKALS 1 OT

(North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston, SC)

Kelly Zajac's first goal of the season gave the South Carolina Stingrays a victory over the Elmira Jackals in overtime on Thursday night at the North Charleston Coliseum by a final score of 2-1. The victory was South Carolina's first home win of the year and their second overtime triumph of the season. Stingrays' goaltender Parker Milner made 15 saves to earn his first win of the year, while forward Steven McParland scored his second goal for South Carolina in as many games in the final seconds of the first period.

SUNDAY: SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 3, ELMIRA JACKALS 2 OT

(North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston, SC)

For the second straight game, the South Carolina Stingrays came back from an early deficit to defeat the Elmira Jackals 3-2 in overtime at the North Charleston Coliseum. Sunday afternoon it was Kelly Zajac who was right in the middle of the heroics once again. After scoring the overtime winner on Thursday, Zajac scored with 11 seconds left in the third period to even the score at 2-2. Then he recorded an assist after helping set up team captain Joe Devin, who is already best known in the Lowcountry for his extra session dramatics, for the game-winner at 33 seconds of overtime. South Carolina outshot Elmira 40-15 in the contest and got goaltender Parker Milner his second victory in as many games.

ZAJAC THE HERO

Forward Kelly Zajac's first goal of the season came at the perfect time for South Carolina, propelling the team to a 2-1 overtime win over Elmira on Thursday night. The Winnipeg, Man. native then followed up his performance on Sunday afternoon, scoring to tie the game with 11 seconds remaining in the third period before assisting on Joe Devin's overtime winner. Zajac has appeared in all eight games for the Stingrays this season after signing an AHL contract with Hershey over the summer. In addition to his two goals, Zajac has four assists on the year which leads the team. A season ago, the forward played in 21 games for South Carolina and put up 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists).

MILNER EARNS BACK-TO-BACK WINS

Goaltender Parker Milner earned his first win of the year on Thursday night, making 15 saves in the 2-1 overtime win vs. Elmira. Milner continued his winning ways Sunday by stopping 13 shots to secure another overtime victory. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native has appeared in six games this season for the Stingrays, making a total of 135 saves. A 26-year-old, Milner is in his fourth professional season. Through 341 total minutes in net this year, the goaltender has a 2.64 goals against average and a save percentage of .900. In both wins over the Jackals, Milner bested former Boston College teammate John Muse. The two were both members of the Eagles' 2010 NCAA National Championship squad. After Muse finished his collegiate career, Milner won another championship with BC in 2012.

DEFENSIVE FIRSTS

It was a week of offensive firsts for the Rays defensive corps, as multiple blueliners recorded their first points of the season. Steve Weinstein picked up assists in both wins over Elmira on Thursday and Sunday, helping out on goals by Steven McParland and Joe Devin. Weinstein has appeared in all eight games so far this season for the Stingrays after spending the 2015-16 season with Cincinnati. Both Steven Delisle and Colton Saucerman also earned their first points of the season in Sunday's victory, each assisting on Patrick Gaul's third period power play goal.

The Stingrays return home to North Charleston next week to open a three-game series with the Colorado Eagles. All three games will be played at home on Nov. 17 and Nov. 19 at 7:05 p.m., and Nov. 20 at 3:05. Single-game tickets for the 2016-17 season are now on sale at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office and ticketmaster.com.
