SHORTHANDED SUCCESS
South Carolina has been an offensive threat while killing penalties this season, scoring a total of nine shorthanded goals during their first 42 games in the 2018-19 year which ranks fourth-best in the ECHL. Their most recent strike came on Sunday when forward Patrick Gaul scored his second shorthanded goal of the season in the second period. The tally turned out to be the game-winner for South Carolina.
BESSE BRINGING THE HEAT
Forward Grant Besse scored his 16th goal of the season during the second period of Sunday's win over Greenville. The second-year skater's goal and point total through 30 ECHL games both rank second-most on the team.
WINNING THE TIGHT ONES
The Stingrays have a record of 13-5-2 in one-goal games this season, showing an ability to prevail in close contests.
