
Stingrays Sign Forward Andrew Cherniwchan

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, announced today that the team has signed forward Andrew Cherniwchan. In keeping with club policy, details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Cherniwchan, 22, finished a four-year collegiate career at Northern Michigan University earning 35 goals and 49 assists for 84 points in 146 games and attended the Capitals' Development Camp in 2010 and 2011. Before college, the Hinton, Alberta, native skated three seasons of junior hockey with the Drayton Valley Thunder (AJHL) and Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL) netting 91 points (54g, 37a) and 308 penalty minutes in 128 games.
The Stingrays battle the Florida Everblades on Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena and return to the North Charleston Coliseum for Fan Appreciation Night and The Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night on Saturday, March 31 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:05 p.m. Cast your vote for this season's Stingrays Hall of Fame inductee at StingraysHockey.com !
