
Stingrays Release 2009-2010 Training Camp Roster

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - The Kelly Cup Champion South Carolina Stingrays have announced their 2009-2010 training camp roster. The Stingrays currently have 16 players on the roster with more expected to be added later. The camp begins with practice on Sunday, October 4 at the Carolina Ice Palace in North Charleston. The camp will continue through October 15 and includes a home-and-home preseason series with the Charlotte Checkers.
The home preseason game takes place on Friday, October 9 at 6 p.m. and is only open to season ticket holders. The second game will take place in Charlotte at the Extreme Ice Center on Saturday, October 10 and tickets are on sale to the general public. Fans can purchase tickets for $10 online at Ticketmaster.com or at the Extreme Ice Center front desk.
Of the 16 current players, 11 spent time in a Stingrays uniform last season including fan favorites Nate Kiser, Lyon Messier, Spencer Carbery, Michael Dubuc and Johann Kroll. Eight players are from the United States, five from Canada and two are dual citizens.

Mark your Calendars - The Stingrays Opening Weekend is set for Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17. Friday night, the Stingrays drop the puck on their 17th season of hockey in the Low Country against the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m. It's FREE PARKING night and Magnetic Schedules Giveaway, courtesy of Comcast, as the Stingrays raise the 2009 Kelly Cup Championship banner to the rafters of the North Charleston Coliseum. Then, come join us early on Saturday for a tailgate in the parking lot before the Rays face division-rival Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. Doors open for both games at 6 p.m.
