Salmon Kings Announce 2009 Training Camp Roster

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today their 2009 Training Camp roster.

The Salmon Kings have invited 31 players to camp including 10 players from last year's team. There will be 13 new faces with pro experience in camp in cluding Yannick Tifu, Chad Painchaud and Dirk Southern.

Rounding out the training camp roster are eight rookies. Camp will consist of 19 forwards, 8 defenseman and 4 goaltenders:

Camp kicks off with physicals and a team meeting tomorrow. That will be followed by fitness testing and the first on-ice sessions of camp on Sunday.

Training Camp will run from October 3rd through October 10th, and will happen exclusively at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Morning practices will be held from October 6th through 8th. Afternoon scrimmages will be held daily from October 6th through 8th at 2:00 p.m.

Friday, October 9th will mark the team's Blue vs. White Inter-squad game at the Save-On-Foods-Memorial Centre, starting at 7:00 p.m. The public is welcome to come for a free night of entertainment as well as dollar hot dogs, soda pop and popcorn.
