Stingrays Add Stewart to Lineup

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Greg Stewart. In keeping with club policy, details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Stewart, 25, skated with the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League (AHL) last season acquiring six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in 74 games. From 2007-10, the Kitchener, Ontario, native split time between the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL) and Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL) recording one assist and 48 penalty minutes in 26 NHL games and 44 points (22g, 22a) in 165 contests with the Bulldogs. An eighth-round selection by the Canadiens in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Stewart began his professional career with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL in 2006-07 netting eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 62 games.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-2, 197-pound forward spent three seasons with the Peterborough Petes in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) totaling 83 points (44g, 39a) in 186 games and was a member of the 2005-06 OHL championship team.
