Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers opened a three-game road series against the Idaho Steelheads tonight with a 6-2 loss.

Idaho opened up the scoring tonight with a goal by forward Chad Klassen and an assist from defenseman Kory Scoran in the first. Wranglers forward Judd Blackwater quickly responded with a goal two minutes later, bringing the score to 1-1 with assists from center Peter MacArthur and forward Eric Lampe. The Steelheads recovered, though, with two more goals before the end of the first. Idaho forward David Fredriksson broke the tie with forward Kael Mouillierat on the assist, and Klassen scored his second goal of the night with help from defenseman Matt Case to put the Steelheads up 3-1 at the end of the period.

In the second, Idaho went up 4-1 after Mouillierat recorded a goal with an assist from defenseman Hubert Labrie. A Wranglers goal by forward Eric Lampe, with assists from MacArthur and defenseman Channing Boe, cut the Steelheads lead to 4-2, but Idaho reestablished their three-goal lead after forward Jacob Cepis brought the team up 5-2 with Mouillierat on the assist.

Both goaltenders held strong until midway through the third period when Mouillierat tallied his second goal of the game with an assist from Klassen to bring the final score to 6-2 in Idaho's favor. The two teams will face off again Friday and Saturday night in Boise, and then again in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
