Goaltender Adam Courchaine has been assigned to the Alaska Aces by the Boston Bruins of the NHL, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Thursday. Last season, Courchaine was outstanding as a rookie for the Aces combining with Gerald Coleman to form the top statistical goaltending duo in the ECHL. The Aces remain home to continue their six-game home stand, on Friday and Saturday night against the Condors. Tickets for both games are on sale now. Courchaine, 22, finished last season with a 17-7-2 record, a 2.52 GAA, and a .902 save percentage. He ranked fifth in GAA and tied for first with four shutouts, alongside Coleman. He started nine straight games in February, and won seven consecutive starts, en route to being named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Month. He also started Game Three of the Western Conference Finals in Victoria, and led the Aces to a victory with an impressive 35 save performance in his post-season debut.

Courchaine has five games of pro experience outside of his time in Alaska, including four games in the AHL with the Providence Bruins. He went 2-1 with a 2.06 GAA and a .915 save percentage while playing in Providence under current Aces Coach, Rob Murray. Prior to turning pro, Courchaine played primarily in the Ontario Hockey League.

Courchaine has not appeared in a game this season, and joins the Aces in time for this weekend's games.

In additional roster moves, the Aces released rookie goaltender Andrew Hayes, activated forward Garry Nunn from the IR, and placed defenseman Chad Anderson on 7-day IR.

The Aces remain home to continue their six-game home stand, on Friday and Saturday night against the Condors. Tickets for both games are on sale now. For more information, please call the Aces at 907.258.ACES or visit them online at www.facebook.com/alaskaaceshockey.
