Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced on Wednesday that goaltender Brian Stewart has been recalled by their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Stewart, a second-year pro, is 13-5-0-0 with the Jackals this season, posting a .913 save percentage and a 2.93 goals-against average. The Burnaby, British Columbia native went 3-0 this past week and was a runner up for the ECHL's Goaltender of the Week title, an award he garnered earlier this season for the week of Nov. 28 - Dec. 4. Stewart won two more shootouts last week as well, improving his career record in shootouts to 10-0 (7-0 - ECHL, 3-0 - AHL). This is Stewart's fifth recall to Binghamton this season.

The Jackals, who stand alone in first place in the Eastern Conference, put their six-game winning streak on the line on Friday when they return home to host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:35 p.m. Elmira finishes out the weekend with home games on Saturday and Sunday against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
