Steve Stark Resigns as FireAntz President

FAYETTEVILLE, NC--- Steve Stark, President of Business Operations for the Cape Fear FireAntz of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League resigned today, effective immediately. Stark resigned his post in the front office and accepted a buyout of his ownership with the Cape Fear FireAntz.

Stark leaves the FireAntz after being with the organization since its inception. The Chicago area native is no stranger to the Fayetteville hockey scene. Stark worked for the Fayetteville Force for three seasons when they were members of the Central Hockey League. He was one of the principles in bringing hockey back to the Cape Fear Region.

"It has been highly rewarding for me to work with hockey in Fayetteville," said Stark, "I am very glad to have been part of bringing hockey back to this town. The FireAntz are a great organization and have a great group of fans. I wish them all of the nothing but the best."

For the remainder of the season General Manager Kevin MacNaught, Operations Manager Tracy Furjanic, and Communications Director Adam Minnick will handle the responsibilities of Stark's position. Any questions on this matter should be directed to Minnick at the FireAntz office.

The FireAntz currently have eight games remaining on their schedule. Cape Fear is in fourth place in the ACHL in a tight battle with rival Winston-Salem. The Antz next home game is Sunday, March 2 at 2:35 p.m. versus the Parrots at the Crown Coliseum.
