Jacksonville, FL- Paul Vincent continued to rack up the points Thursday night as he started off the scoring frenzy that led the Barracudas to their 8-3 defeat over the Cape Fear Fire Antz. Vincent also scored the final goal of the evening and recorded four assists.

Vincent, the 6'4 forward also reached the 500-point plateau in his minor league career, putting him in elite company. The Barracudas have taken a powerful start to their three game weekends at home.

After Aaron Shrieves opened scoring for the Fire Antz, the Cudas responded with goals by Vincent, Nate Caswell and Kory Baker.

Leading 3-1 after one period, Jacksonville added to their lead with two goals by Jamie Miller before Bruce Watson replied for Cap Fear. Before the second period ended, Chad Cabana and Jay Niemiec had added to the Cudas lead.

Each team scored once in the third period. Vincent notched his 2nd goal of the game on a beautiful individual effort to give him his 6 points on the night.

Newly acquired former NHL goalie Rob Stauber stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced in the third period. Coach Ron Duguay was finally able to rest started Nathan Grobins in the third. Grobins, who has been overworked lately, handled 22 of the 24 shots he faced in the first two periods.

The Barracudas will face the Macon Trax tonight at 7:30 p.m. and the Orlando Seals Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
