Rapid City Rush News Release

(Tulsa, OK) - The Rapid City Rush concluded their five-game road trip with a 3-1 win over the Tulsa Oilers on Tuesday night. Rush goaltender Tim Boron was the game's #1 star with 34 saves on the night, while Andrew Smale scored twice to give Rapid City a 9-3-1 record over their last thirteen road games. The Rush finally return home for a pair of games against the Wichita Thunder this Friday and Saturday and tickets are available by calling 716-PUCK (7825) or online at www.gotmine.com.

Oilers rookie defenseman Jeff Terminesi notched the lone goal of the opening period at 5:14 after receiving a centering pass from Mike Ullrich who pounced on a turnover deep in the Rapid City zone.

The Rush evened the score in the second period on a goal from rookie defenseman Jordan Behler, who in the previous game scored the first of his career. The powerplay tally was set up by Collin Circelli who snapped a rink-wide pass to Behler at the right circle, and the defenseman sent a wrist shot under the glove of Oilers goaltender Ian Keserich.

Just 1:52 into the third period, a costly turnover by the Oilers at the blueline allowed Andrew Smale to break in alone and slide a shot through the pads of Keserich for Rapid City's first lead of the game. Smale later added an empty-net goal to lock the 3-1 win, marking his first multi-goal effort since January 27, 2010 while with the Amarillo Gorillas.

Tim Boron improved to 17-9-2 on the year, turning aside all nut one of the 35 shots on net.

Rapid City's penalty kill was perfect, stifling each of the seven chances by the Oilers.
