Missouri's Charlie Effinger Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (March 6, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Missouri's Charlie Effinger has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 4, 2012.

Effinger earns the honor for the fourth time this season becoming the first player to reach that plateau since Miguel Beaudry (Austin) did so during the 2007-08 season. Effinger also earned the recognition on November 1, January 17 and February 14.
The Belleville, Illinois native has been busy this season starting 22 straight games for the Mavericks including two last week, both wins. During his games last week, Effinger turned away 64 of 67 shots (.955 save percentage).
The week began on Tuesday for Effinger where he made 32 saves in a 4-2 win at Tulsa and then he continued with a 32 save effort on Friday night in a 3-1 win over Rapid City.
On the season, Effinger is 26-13-3 with a 2.68 goals against average and a .922 save percentage. His ranks among the league leaders in wins (second - 26), minutes (second - 2483:42), saves (first - 1,318) and save percentage (tied for fifth - .922).
