Steelheads Will Host St. Luke's "Pink In the Rink" Jersey Auction March 17th and 18th

Boise, ID- The Idaho Steelheads are once again partnering with St. Luke's this season to support cancer research with the annual "Pink in the Rink" Jersey Auction, held on March 17th and 18th at CenturyLink Arena when the Steelheads host the Rapid City Rush.

The Steelheads will wear custom-made jerseys during both weekend contests. Fans are welcome to bid on the game-worn jerseys of their favorite players throughout the weekend at a silent auction held on the arena concourse, with auction tables stationed behind Section 113. Bidding will close at the end of the second period on Saturday night, and those who purchase jerseys will receive their prizes from the players themselves during a Project Filter Autograph session following the game.

"St. Luke's makes tremendous strides each year toward better care for Treasure Valley patients battling cancer, and they work extremely hard to develop new and innovative methods to find a cure," said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. "We are proud to be included in those efforts and we are proud that our fan base shows such enthusiasm every season to contribute to the cause."

All proceeds from the auction will be donated to St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute to support cancer research. Last season's "Pink in the Rink" auction raised just under $19,500.

This is the Steelheads' third specialty jersey auction this season, with the team raising just under $36,000 through the first two events and exceeding last year's totals in auctions held on Military Appreciation Night and for the Jayden DeLuca Foundation. The "Pink in the Rink" auction has been among the most popular among Steelheads fans, resulting in nearly $72,912 raised through successful jersey auctions over the past four seasons.

The Steelheads open their five-game home-stand on Friday night with the first of two meetings with the Cincinnati Cyclones. The team also invites fans to head down to CenturyLink Arena on Sunday from 1-3pm for the CenturyLink Free Skate.
