Steelheads want to pack the house

Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho -Idaho Steelheads head coach John Olver is challenging Treasure Valley fans to come out in force to support his team during Games 1 and 2 of the Pacific Division Finals against the Alaska Aces that will kick off this weekend at the Bank of America Centre.

After overcoming a two-games-to-none deficit in Round 1 of the Syringa Bank Kelly Cup Playoffs and defeating Las Vegas on its own ice in the deciding Game 5 last night with a 3-0 shutout, Olver wants to keep the energy and momentum high.

"I am recruiting fans for a Boise Blizzard to show the Aces a storm like they've never seen before," said Olver. "Their last home game was a sell out with standing room only. Let's sell out ours and beat them on and off the ice. We don't want their fans to outplay ours."

Forward Lance Galbraith, who scored a hat trick and the winning goal in overtime in Game 4 at the BofA Centre on Tuesday said, "I've played for three pro teams and the fans in Boise are definitely the best. Nothing is more important to the guys on the bench than to look up in the stands and see a packed house cheering them on."

The Pacific Division Finals schedule is as follows:

Game 1: Friday, April 16 Idaho 7:05 pm MST

Game 2: Saturday, April 17 Idaho 7:05 pm MST

Game 3: Tuesday, April 20 Anchorage 9:00 pm MST

Game 4: Wednesday, April 21 Anchorage 9:00 pm MST

Game 5: Saturday, April 24 Idaho 7:05 pm MST

The first 2,500 fans through the doors Friday night will receive white cheer sticks, and fans are asked to wear white for the WHITEOUT BLIZZARD.

Tickets are currently on sale and prices range from $12.00 to $29.00 for adults and $9.00 to $19.25 for youth and seniors. Tickets are available at the Bank of America Centre box office, by visiting any Select-A-Seat outlet, by calling 331-TIXS (8497), or by logging on to www.idahotickets.com or www.idahosteelheads.com.
