Eklund, Hay, Craig and Soucy Called Up to Tampa Bay

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, under the new ownership group of Hockey Enterprises of Pensacola L.L.C. with owner Tim Kerr, announced that goalie Brian Eklund, forward Dwayne Hay, forward Ryan Craig and forward Jean Francois Soucy have been called up to the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League. All four players are expected to participate with the Lighting in practice during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Eklund finished the regular season with the Ice Pilots posting a record of 38-17-7 with a 3.01 goals against average and .921 save percentage. He set ECHL records for saves in a season (2,194), minutes played (3,724) and tied an ECHL record with his 38 wins.

Eklund also was 2-3 during the Kelly Cup Playoffs with a 2.88 goals against average and .931 save percentage. His 83 saves in the Ice Pilots 2-1 double overtime loss vs. Louisiana in Game Five of the Central Division Semi Finals was an ECHL Playoff record.

Hay played in 62 games for the Ice Pilots during the regular season scoring 29 goals, 30 assists for 59 points and picked up 40 penalty minutes and played in all 5 playoff games scoring one goal, three assists for four points and picked up two penalty minutes.

Craig played in five during the regular season for the Ice Pilots scoring 3 goals, 5 assists for 8 points and played in two playoff games picking up one assist. Craig played in 61 games for Hershey in the AHL this year scoring 4 goals, 8 assists for 12 points and picked up 24 penalty minutes.

Soucy played in 57 regular season games for the Ice Pilots scoring 10 goals, 10 assists for 20 points and picked up 199 penalty minutes and played in all five playoff games picking up 23 penalty minutes.

The Ice Pilots will host their final Coachs Radio Show this Monday night from the Gutter Lounge at Phoenix Crossing located at 3200 Palafox Street from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to be broadcast on WCOA AM 1370 and on www.icepilots.com. Many of the Ice Pilot players who are still in town will be at the show. Season tickets for the 2004-2005 season are on sale by calling the Ice Pilots office at 432-PUCK.
