Brampton Steelheads News Release

MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads are back at home after a busy weekend on the road. In their first 3-in-3 of the year, the Steelheads came out with 4 points, splitting their games with the Hamilton Bulldogs 1-1, and capping off the weekend with a 6-2 road victory over the Sarnia Sting on Sunday afternoon.

Leading their division with a 6-2-1-0 record, the Steelheads are looking to continue to stay hot with three tough games this week - starting with a divisional game in North Bay on Thursday against the Battalion. The Steelheads head back home for a Friday night tilt against the Peterborough Petes, followed by another home game Sunday afternoon against the Ottawa 67s. With both the Petes and 67's tied atop their division, the Steelheads have the opportunity to take the top spot in the conference with a strong showing this weekend. The Steelheads look to start their week off on the right foot with a win against the Battalion on Thursday in North Bay.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19 - PETERBOROUGH PETES @ MISSISSAUGA STEELHEADS

With an 8-2-0-0 record, the Peterborough Petes seem to be one of the best defensive teams in the OHL. Sporting a +14 goal differential, the best in the league, and one of the best goalies in the league in Hunter Jones, the Petes look to shutdown the Steelheads offence and the likes of Owen Tippett and Ryan McLeod. In four contests with the Petes last season, the Steelheads came out on top of the series 3-1.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21 - OTTAWA 67'S @ MISSISSAUGA STEELHEADS

Sitting on top of the league in goals for, the Ottawa 67s are in the midst of a 5 game winning streak, with two games ahead of them this week before they face off against the Steelheads on Sunday. Home to the top two scorers in the league, Austen Keating and Tye Felhaber, the 67s are one of the best offensive teams in the OHL.

Player to Watch: Mississauga Steelheads

Nicholas Canade: Scoring his first goal of the season this past Friday against the Hamilton Bulldogs, Canade was finally able to get the monkey off his back. With his incredible speed, Canade has been around the puck all season. In 9 games this season, Canade has one goal and six assists and is looking to continue to add some more depth scoring to this Steelheads team.

Player to Watch: Peterborough Petes

Christopher Paquette: Leading the Petes in scoring, Paquette has been hot to start his 2018-2019 campaign. Paquette's highest point total in a season was 29 points, which he's hit twice. Almost halfway there through only 10 games in the season, Paquette is on pace to more than double his previous season high.

Player to Watch: Ottawa 67's

Tye Felhaber: With 11 goals in 11 games and 18 total points on the season, Felhaber is second in the OHL in scoring, only behind fellow teammates Austen Keating. With 70 points last season, the veteran OHLer is in his fifth year in the league and is looking like it may be his best.
