Steelheads Preview: November 21 - 23

November 21, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Brampton Steelheads News Release

The Steelheads dropped their School Day game to the league-leading Generals and fell to 1-1-0-0 in the season series with Oshawa. However, with two wins in their last three games, the Steelheads will look to build on the positives this weekend as they play two games in three days.

On Friday, the Trout make their only trip to Budweiser Gardens this season for a Friday night matchup with the London Knights. The Knights currently sit in third place in the Midwest Division with 26 points in 21 games. Knights captain Max Domi, currently sits in third place in OHL scoring with 40 points in 19 games. The Steelheads will face the Knights just twice this season, with the other half of the home-and-home series set to take place on November 30 at the Hershey Centre. In four career games, the Steelheads are 1-2-0-1 against the Knights. In the most recent meeting, on January 19, 2014, the Steelheads were lifted over the Knights by a Sean Day game-winning goal.

The Steelheads have already had one matchup with the Peterborough Petes, but the game on Sunday will be the first one on home ice this season. A Greg Betzold hat trick and a three-goal third period by the Petes was what sunk the Steelheads in the first meeting. With Betzold out of the lineup due to a suspension, the Steelheads will shift their focus to Anaheim-prospect Nick Ritchie and the rest of the Petes as they look for redemption. The Trout will look to do so with some early jump as the Petes will travel to Mississauga after a visit to Barrie on Saturday night. The Petes most recently dropped all three games on a road trip to Kitchener, Oshawa and North Bay.
