Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads and Pepsi teamed up and raised $11,900 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by auctioning off one-of-a kind hockey jerseys.

The Idaho Steelheads wore special jerseys, sponsored by Pepsi, when they hosted the Bakersfield Condors last week - Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (Jan. 19th, 21st, 22nd) at the Bank of America Centre.

The game-worn jerseys were auctioned off during games, and distributed to the highest bidder after Saturday night's game, with all proceeds going to the MDA. Goaltender Frank Doyle and fan-favorite Lance Galbraith's jerseys were bought outright for $800 each. Forwards Scott Burt and Marty Flichel's jerseys garnered $625 and $600 respectively, and defensemen David Cornacchia and Jonathan Zion's each brought in $500+.

MDA will use the money to help treat and find cures for neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans.

This auction brings the Steelheads 2004-05 jersey auctions total to $19,000. In November of this season, the Steelheads held a commemorative patriotic jersey auction, sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America, to benefit the Call to Duty Fund and raised $7,100 for families of local National Guard Soldiers deployed to Iraq.
