Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, AK â The Alaska Aces will be hosting a blood drive with the Blood Bank of Alaska. Blood donations will be taken Friday, January 28, from 10:30 am to 6 pm at the Alaska Aces Office on 15th and Gambell.
Those interested are encouraged to make an appointment by calling the Blood Bank at 222-5632. Each person who donates blood will receive a free ticket voucher to any Aces regular season home game, which can be redeemed at the Aces office.
Last year's drive, held in September, included 33 participants and 25 usable units of blood. Kathleen Bylsm, spokesperson for the Blood Bank of Alaska, said it was considered to be a very successful drive.
Participants can expect about 35 minutes for a screening and 15 minutes for the actual donation. Appointments are encouraged for a timelier donation but walk-ins are always welcome. For more information please visit www.bloodbankofalaska.org or call the Aces office at 258-2237.
Of course, don't miss the Aces game at 7:15 pm after the blood drive wraps up at 6 pm on Friday. Saturday's rematch with the Steelheads is scheduled for 7:15 pm while Sunday's series finale will start at 5:05 pm. The Aces are approaching a milestone in attendance, so the 100,000th fan through the door on Sunday will win 100,000 Alaska Airline Mileage Plan Miles, courtesy of GCI. All children in attendance may participate in Sunday's post game "Skate With The Aces" and get autographs from their favorite players, courtesy of KeyBank.
All three games will be broadcast live on flagship station KFQD 750 AM and at www.alaskaaces.com
