(MISSISSAUGA, Ontario) - Enersource and the Mississauga Steelheads are pleased to announce the launch of a new educational program, designed for elementary school children.

The 'Enersource More than Energy Tour' was created to help educate children on important issues that face today's youth. Program organizers will work with school staff to create presentations that meet curriculum needs, while educating children on behavioural and social matters. The presentations will then be delivered by hockey players from the Mississauga Steelheads roster, who will speak to students on a variety of topics, including: teamwork; inclusiveness; responsibility; nutrition; and the importance of academic/athletic balance.

The tour is a new addition to the ongoing partnership the local electricity company has with the Steelheads, which includes energy conservation tips during stoppages in play, joint communications and promotional events, as well as sponsorship whenever the Steelheads are on the powerplay. The two organizations' mascots, The Voltinator (Enersource) and Sauga (Steelheads) have also become close friends and will work together at various events across the City.

Through its partnership with Enersource, the Steelheads will donate four tickets for each home game to local school children through the Adopt-A-School Partner Program. The team also donated 250 tickets to this season's Steelheads Annual School Day Game on Enersource's behalf.
