IceDogs 9th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Coming this Friday
November 24, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs annual Teddy Bear Toss game is coming up this Friday, November 27th when they play host to the visiting North Bay Battalion at 7pm!
The always popular Teddy Bear Toss game sees fans bring new or gentle used stuffed animals to throw on to the ice when the IceDogs score their first goal of the evening. All the stuffed animals will be collected and donated to VICTIM SERVICES NIAGARA (organization that assists children and families involved in traumatic or tragic circumstances), as well as Niagara Regional Police Service's Sergeant Neal Orlando's bear and a book program (where a toy is paired with a new book and given to children as a Christmas present) administered through VILLAGE OF HOPE (an organization that provides community support for less fortunate families and children in the Niagara Region).
Once again as a special thank you, every fan that brings a stuffed animal to throw on the ice will receive a voucher good for a $2 ticket to the New Year's Eve game on December 31st.
The game will mark the IceDogs ninth annual Teddy Bear toss, with thousands of stuffed animals collected and distributed to children throughout the Niagara region over the past eight years. With your help, the IceDogs are hoping to top last year's total of 1,576 stuffed animals collected and have record number collected this year!
