-SPIKES FINISH HOMESTAND AGAINST DOUBLEDAYS: The State College Spikes welcome the Auburn Doubledays to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for the final time in 2011 tonight to complete a two-game series. Both teams will head to Falcon Park starting tomorrow for another two-game set. The Spikes are 27-27 all-time against the Doubledays, with a 15-15 mark all-time at home against the Nationals affiliate.

-LAST GAME: Brian Sharp and Chris Lashmet each smashed their first professional home runs and Taylor Lewis drove in three runs while scoring two as the Spikes battled back from behind twice to down the Doubledays, 8-6, on Saturday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes set a new season high for runs in a single game in the win, and set a new franchise record by going a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts. Sharp's solo bomb to the left field Picnic Pavilion in the first inning was followed by Lashmet's solo shot to center field in the bottom of the third.

-POYTRESS GETS FIRST PRO START: Left-hander Josh Poytress makes the start for State College tonight in his second pro appearance. Poytress allowed three runs as a reliever in the eighth inning to take the loss on Thursday against Mahoning Valley. The southpaw was drafted in the 17th round by the Pirates this year out of Fresno State, where he was a two-time All-WAC pitcher.

-ESTEVEZ DRAWS ASSIGNMENT FOR AUBURN: Right-hander Wirkin Estevez will start on the mound for the Doubledays. Estevez took the loss after yielding six runs in 3.2 innings in his first start, but has bounced back to grab a pair of victories in his last two outings. The Dominican righty made the leap to Auburn straight from the Dominican Summer League, where he was 6-7 with a 2.61 ERA and three complete games as a starter in 2010.
