-SPIKES FACE JAMMERS IN GAME ONE MATCHUP: The State College Spikes will play their first playoff game in franchise history as they face the Jamestown Jammers in Game 1 of the best-of-3 New York-Penn League Semifinal Series tonight at Russell Diethrick Park. The Spikes will host Game 2 on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. and Game 3, if necessary, on Sunday at 7:05 p.m. State College won the 2013 regular season series against Jamestown, 8-2. -LAST GAME: The Spikes fell to their opponents in the upcoming New York-Penn League Semifinal Series, the Jamestown Jammers, by a 9-4 score in the 2013 regular season finale at Russell Diethrick Park on Wednesday night. Jamestown took advantage of State College wildness on the mound as the Spikes walked a total of eight batters. The Jammers sent eight batters to the plate in the first inning and scored three runs. Austin Meadows extended the Jamestown lead to 4-0 with a solo home run in the third inning. Luke Voit knocked in a run with his first double of the night and Michael Schulze delivered an RBI single to cut the margin to 4-2 in the fourth. Voit would add a two-run double in the eighth inning, but it only gave the game its final score.

The Clinton, MO native was taken by the Cardinals in the ninth round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Missouri State. Petree has made two appearances against Jamestown this season, going 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA over 11 2/3 innings of work.

-BORDEN GETS THE BALL FOR JAMMERS: Right-hander Buddy Borden makes the start on the hill for Jamestown tonight. Borden has not yet faced the Spikes in his professional career.
