-SPIKES LOOK FOR SIXTH WIN IN A ROW: The first-place State College Spikes conclude the first half of a six-game road trip tonight as they face the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium tonight. Tonight's game is the 62nd meeting between the Spikes and Muckdogs over the past seven years. Batavia holds a 34-28 all-time series lead, and a 18-13 lead in games played at Dwyer Stadium. The Spikes have already matched last year's win total at Dwyer Stadium, where they went 1-4 in 2011.

-LAST GAME: The State College Spikes saw their winning streak end at five on Tuesday night with a 3-1 loss to the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium. Luis Heredia took the loss in his first start away from home with the Spikes. The 17-year-old right-hander allowed two runs, one earned, on eight hits over five innings. Heredia also struck out three Muckdog batters. Walker Gourley drove in his eighth RBI in four nights with a fourth-inning triple, and Yonathan Barrios had two hits and two stolen bases. Alex Fuselier had two hits as well.

-SPIKES GO WITH HOLMES ON THE MOUND: 19-year-old right-hander Clay Holmes gets the start for State College tonight. Holmes, the Pirates' ninth-round draft choice in 2011, pitched five scoreless innings to get the win in his professional debut this past Friday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park against Mahoning Valley. The Tampa, FL native yielded three hits and a walk while striking out five batters to set a season-high mark for strikeouts in a single game by a Spikes pitcher.

-BIBONA GETS START FOR MUCKDOGS TONIGHT: Left-hander Daniel Bibona is slated to start for the Muckdogs tonight. Bibona, the eight-round draft choice of the Cardinals in 2010, allowed three runs, two of them earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out two over three innings in his last start. The UC-Irvine product missed the 2011 season due to injury, faces college teammate D.J. Crumlich tonight.

-HEREDIA OFF TO STRONG START: Top Pirates pitching prospect Luis Heredia is currently tied for sixth in the New York-Penn League in ERA after allowing just one earned run over his first nine innings in a Spikes uniform. Heredia has also struck out seven batters and walked two in his first two outings.

-SPIKE MARKS: Barrett Barnes is in NYPL lead in times hit by pitch with 4, and is tied for the lead in steals with 4...State College as a team is now 15-for-18 in steal attempts, leading the NYPL in bases nabbed....Joan Montero's 2 wins are tied for the league lead...Tom Harlan is the one of three NYPL pitchers with 2 holds...Jodaneli Carvajal is fourth in the loop in slugging at .457
