AUBURN, N.Y. - The Auburn Doubledays (7-3) completed a three-game sweep of the Jamestown Jammers (3-7) on Wednesday night with a 7-0 win at Falcon Park. The win is the fifth of the season for the Doubledays at home, as the team remains unbeaten when playing in Auburn.
The Doubledays' first four runs came in the bottom of the third thanks to a grand slam homerun off the bat of CF J.R. Higley. It was the first grand slam of the year for Auburn, and the team's fifth homer of the season. Higley is on rehab assignment with the Doubledays from Class A Advanced Potomac.
In the fourth Auburn tacked on another run thanks to a line drive single to right by catcher Spencer Kieboom. Third baseman Kayyan Norfork scored on the hit to put the Doubledays ahead 5-0.
The final two Auburn runs came in the sixth. Norfork reached on a fielding error by 3B Rony Peralta. Left fielder Wander Ramos then doubled on a fly ball to center field that advanced Norfork to third. Both runners were sent home on a single up the middle by Kieboom, giving the Doubledays catcher three RBI on the night.
