-SPIKES HIT THE ROAD WITH WIN STREAK ON THE LINE: The State College Spikes head to Falcon Park tonight to start a two-game mini-series against the Auburn Doubledays. The Spikes have won five straight stretching back to a pair of road wins at Batavia July 2 and 3. The Spikes and Doubledays are meeting for the first time this season after State College exclusively faced Williamsport, Batavia and Jamestown over the first 23 games of the season. The Doubledays are 3-7 over their last ten games. All-time, State College is 38-42 against Auburn, with an 18-22 record in games played at Falcon Park.

-LAST NIGHT: Will Anderson pitched seven strong innings and Brian O'Keefe hit his first professional home run to help the State College Spikes stretch their winning streak to five games with a 5-2 victory over the Jamestown Jammers on Sunday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

Anderson followed his record-setting seven-inning, 10-strikeout performance last Sunday against Williamsport with another solid performance against Jamestown. The right-hander from Pleasanton, CA allowed two runs on five hits while striking out four. Anderson, the Cardinals' 26th-round draft choice last year out of Cal State-Monterey Bay, also ran his streak of innings without giving up a walk to 15.

O'Keefe's two-out two-run homer to center field in the fourth inning gave the Spikes their first lead of the game at 3-2. The Cardinals' 2014 seventh-round draft choice was also behind the plate for each of Anderson's last two starts.

-PEREZ HEADS TO HILL FOR SPIKES: Left-hander Dewin Perez gets his team-leading fifth start of the year for State College tonight. Perez went five innings and allowed five runs, four of them earned, on seven hits and a walk last time out in a loss against Batavia. The Cartagena, Colombia native maintained his streak of 369 batters faced without allowing a home run that stretches back to his first outing in the Dominican Summer League in 2012. Perez has earned both of his decisions on the road, and has eight strikeouts to three walks over 10 innings of work away from home.

-DOUBLEDAYS TAP DEROSIER FOR START: Right-hander Matt Derosier makes the start for Auburn tonight, his first of the year. Derosier has made four relief appearances with the Doubledays, and tossed three shutout innings in which he recorded three strikeouts against Mahoning Valley on Wednesday. The righty was the Nationals' 24th-round draft choice in 2013 out of Southwestern College in California. Derosier pitched last year for the GCL Nationals, posting a 2-1 record with a 2.67 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 27 innings, but also made a single appearance with Auburn on July 24 against Williamsport.

-WICK IT...WICK IT REAL GOOD : Rowan Wick grabbed more laurels to begin the 2014 season as he earned the St. Louis Cardinals Player of the Month award on Wednesday and set the Spikes' single-season home run record with his 11th homer later that night. Wick has continued his torrid start the 2014 season, although he has gone homerless in the four games since breaking the franchise record. The North Vancouver, BC native is currently bidding for the NYPL's Triple Crown, as he added to his league-leading total with his 28th RBI of the year last night, and his .395 batting average is only eight points back of Connecticut's Michael Gerber.

-SPIKE MARKS: Last night, 2007 Spikes Pitcher of the Year Tony Watson became the second former Spike to earn a berth in the Major League All-Star Game as he was named to the NL squad by manager Mike Matheny...Watson follows in the footsteps of Allen Craig, who was named to last year's NL squad after playing for the Spikes in 2006...Wick is homering once every 6.91 at-bats...The Spikes lead the league with 130 runs scored as a team, and their 2.79 team ERA is second in the league behind Hudson Valley...State College is 11-4 in games decided by three or more runs..The Spikes are 6-0 when playing an errorless game
