-SPIKES START SERIES WITH TWO VS. SPINNERS: Fresh off a sweep over the Connecticut Tigers and leading the NYPL's Wild Card race, the State College Spikes roll into LeLacheur Park tonight to start a three-game series with the Lowell Spinners. After a rainout last night, tonight will see the Spikes and Spinners tangle twice in doubleheader action. The Spikes are 9-1 over their last ten games, and their five-game win streak is the second such string this year. State College has a winning 9-7 mark all time against Lowell, including a sweep at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park last year.

-LAST GAME: The Spikes finished off a pair of victories Friday night at Dodd Stadium in Connecticut. In the completion of Thursday's suspended game, Jacob Stallings delivered a two-run single in the eighth inning to give the Spikes a 6-4 win. Tyler Gaffney then reached base five times, set a Spikes single-season record for times hit by pitch and tied a Spikes record by scoring four runs as the Spikes took a 9-4 victory over the Tigers. Barrett Barnes also homered for the Spikes.

-SAMPSON, RODRIGUEZ HIT THE HILL FOR SPIKES: Right-hander Adrian Sampson gets the start for State College on the mound in game one. Sampson, the fifth-round draft choice of the Pirates in 2012, has struck out 17 in 15 2/3 innings so far this year. Left-hander Joely Rodriguez gets the ball for game two. Rodriguez makes his eighth start of the year for the Spikes, and looks to bounce back after allowing five runs on ten hits and a walk over 4 2/3 innings to Batavia last time out.

-JOHNSON MAKES DEBUT, AUGLIERA TO FOLLOW FOR SPINNERS: Left-hander Brian Johnson is slated to start for for the Spinners tonight. Johnson, who the Red Sox made the 31st overall draft choice in 2012, makes his professional debut after spending the spring as a pitcher/DH at Florida. Right-hander Mike Augliera, the fifth-round draft pick of the Red Sox this year, gets the ball for game two. The Binghamton product has allowed 14 runs (12 earned) in his last three starts.

-SPIKES SUCCESS UNPARALLELED IN TEAM HISTORY: With Friday's wins, the Spikes went to seven games above .500, the highest-water mark since the Spikes first started playing in State College in 2006. State College took its fourth three-game series sweep this year, the most for any single season in franchise history. The Spikes have also never before earned 23 wins so soon in a season.

-SPIKE MARKS: Gaffney's 2 HBP on Friday set a Spikes single-season record with 10...The previous record of 9 was co-held by Brian Friday (2007) and Justin Byler (2009)...Gaffney also tied the club's single-game record of 4 runs held by Keanon Simon (8/12/07), Chad Rice (7/4/08) and Kyle Morgan (8/24/08)...The Spikes are hitting .300 with 62 runs in their last 10 games
