
Tigers and Jammers Suspended Sunday

NORWICH-The Jamestown Jammers had a 12-0 lead over the Connecticut Tigers in game one of a doubleheader before heavy rain suspended play in the top of the fourth inning on Sunday. The two teams will make up the doubleheader with a twin bill on Monday night beginning at 6:05 p.m. The Tigers will play the final three innings of game one, take a half-hour break between games and play a seven-inning game two of the doubleheader.
Fans that hold tickets to Saturday and Sunday's games may exchange those tickets at the Dodd Stadium Box Office for tickets of equal or lesser value for any remaining home game in the 2012 season. The offer is subject to availability.
The Jammers scored four runs in the first inning against Tigers RHP Edgar De La Rosa and single runs in the second and third innings. A six-run fourth inning came before rain stopped play at 4:13 p.m.
The Tigers and Jammers finish their series on Monday night at 6:05 p.m. in a doubleheader. It's another "Kids Eat Free Monday" with all kids 12 and under receiving a voucher for a hot dog, bag of chips, apple and bottle of water sponsored by U.S. Foods and The Day Newspaper. The Tigers will also host another "Social Media Monday" with fans that "like" the Tigers on facebook and follow the Tigers on Twitter receiving a special ticket offer. The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers saw a 23% increase in attendance in 2011, (the 4th highest in Minor League Baseball), and are in their 3rd season at Dodd Stadium. Tickets are now on sale!
