-SPIKES CONTINUE SERIES IN JAMESTOWN TONIGHT: The State College Spikes and Jamestown Jammers return to single-game action tonight at Russell Diethrick Park to continue a four-game, three-night series. The Spikes are 4-4 against the Jammers this year, and 2-2 at Diethrick Park. This series will complete the set of ten games the two clubs played against each other in 2012, with all of the matchup coming after August 8. Both teams are now out of playoff contention in the NYPL.

-LAST GAME: Walker Gourley compiled three hits for the Spikes, including an RBI triple to provide an insurance run in a game one victory, and the Spikes split a pair of seven-inning games with the Jamestown Jammers at Russell Diethrick Park on Thursday night, winning the first contest, 4-2, before dropping the second, 2-1. Jacob Stallings walked three times for the Spikes in game one. Josh Smith earned the win in relief in the first game, while Kyle Haynes got the save.

-HOLMES HITS THE MOUND FOR SPIKES TONIGHT: State College will send right-hander Clay Holmes to the hill tonight. Last time out, Holmes was one of three pitchers to combine on a 5-0 shutout win over the Jammers this past Saturday. The 19-year-old will also look to atone for his last appearance on the mound at Diethrick Park, in which he went a career-short 1 1/3 innings and walked five batters. Holmes leads the NYPL in opponents' batting average with a .161 mark.

-STECKENRIDER GETS START FOR JAMMERS: Right-hander Drew Steckenrider is slated to start for the Jammers tonight. Steckenrider took the loss last time out against the Spikes this past Saturday, yielding five runs on seven hits and two walks. The right-hander out of Forsyth, GA also struck out six over five innings. Steckenrider was the Marlins' eighth-round draft choice out of Tennessee this year. In each of his last time starts, Steckenrider has gone five innings.

-NEW GCL CHAMPS JOIN SPIKES: Infielders Dilson Herrera and Eric Wood each debuted with the Spikes last night in game two of the doubleheaders, just one day after helping the GCL Pirates clinch their first Gulf Coast League championship in 44 years with a 2 games to 0 victory over the GCL Red Sox in the GCL Championship Series. Herrera and Wood are also set to be joined by pitchers Tyler Glasnow, Dovydas Neverauskas, and Bryton Trepagnier.

-SPIKE MARKS: Tyler Gaffney's five triples are tied for third in the NYPL, and his 20 times hit by pitch still lead the loop...Samuel Gonzalez is tied for the NYPL lead with 5 sacrifice flies...State College pitchers have allowed just 18 home runs, least in the NYPL...Neverauskas, the first ever Lithuanian player in Spikes history, is slated to start on the mound for the Spikes tomorrow
