The Williamsport Crosscutters and Philadelphia Phillies jointly announced today that they have extended their Player Development Contract (PDC) for two years.

In announcing the agreement, Phillies Director of Player Development, Joe Jordan stated, "Williamsport is an integral part of the Phillies player development ladder and we're very happy to extend our relationship with a very well-run franchise in an historical baseball town."

The new agreement will cover the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The formal announcement was made at Historic Bowman Field prior to the August 31 game.

Crosscutters President Paul Velte added, "We are very pleased to be able to announce this extension in front of our fans. The Phillies are a great organization. Our partnership with them has been tremendous and we hope it continues for many years to come."

The Williamsport Crosscutters play in the 14-team New York-Penn League and began their affiliation with Philadelphia in 2007.
