-SPIKES LOOK FOR BIGGER DIVISION LEAD TONIGHT: The State College Spikes and Jamestown Jammers are 1-2 in the New York-Penn League's Pinckney Division, and continue a run of six games against each other in seven nights with the last game of a three-game, two-night series tonight at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes have a 5-1 lead in the season series, and have won their last five games against the Jammers. State College and Jamestown will also play a three-game series September 2-4 at Diethrick Park to end the regular season. The Spikes' magic number to clinch a berth in the NYPL playoffs is two, and they currently hold a three-game lead on the Jammers in the division. Jamestown leads the all-time series, 40-36.
-LAST GAME: The Spikes made a furious five-run comeback in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Jammers in the completion of a suspended game from June 25, then thrashed the Jammers, 8-2, in Thursday night's regularly scheduled game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Cesar Valera delivered his third walk-off hit of the year to give State College its eighth walk-off win this season, following a two-run homer by Ronald Castillo and a solo shot by Carson Kelly jumpstarted the rally. In game two, the Spikes took advantage of three Jamestown errors and a solo homer from Alex De Leon to break the game open and complete the sweep.

Reed, who was drafted by the Cardinals in the sixth round out of Maryland in 2013, has gone six shutout innings in each of his last two outings, striking out a total of seven and walking four. Reed is 2-0 with a save in five home appearances (four of them starts), and holds an 0.78 ERA in games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The former Terrapin has made 11 outings this season, eight of them starts.
-JAMMERS TAP KUHL FOR START TONIGHT: Right-hander Chad Kuhl makes his first appearance of the season against State College tonight for Jamestown. Kuhl is making his 12th overall start of the year, and has bone five innings in half of them so far. The Bear, DE native was taken in the ninth round of the 2013 MLB Draft by the Pirates out of the University of Delaware. Last time out, Kuhl allowed one run on five hits while striking out three over five frames against Williamsport in a no-decision.
