-LEAGUE-LEADING SPIKES RESTART SAWBUCK SERIES: The State College Spikes, now alone atop the New York-Penn League with a 41-24 record, face the Williamsport Crosscutters tonight at Historic Bowman Field in the second game of a three-game series. Despite seeing their team record ten-game winning streak halted last night, the Spikes still lead both the Pinckney Division and the race for the league's best overall record by 1 1/2 games. In addition, for the first time since 2006, the Spikes have clinched outright victory in the season-long SawBuck Series as they lead, 7-3, with a 4-1 record away from home. State College is 45-49 all-time against Williamsport, with a 21-27 road record.

-LAST GAME: The State College Spikes saw their string of ten consecutive wins come to an end on Monday night as the Williamsport Crosscutters scored seven run in the first inning to take a 13-5 decision at Historic Bowman Field. Williamsport brought ten batters to the plate in the opening frame. The Spikes bounced back to score three runs of their own in the second inning on doubles by Matthew Young and Steven Ramos, but the Crosscutters responded with a three-run second to erase the surge and cruise to victory. Despite the defeat on a rainy night, the Spikes still produced nine hits, including two each for Ramos, Young and Jimmy Bosco. Crosscutters catcher Andrew Knapp went 4-for-5 with three doubles and scored three runs.

-REYES LOOKS FOR ANOTHER QUALITY START FOR SPIKES: Right-hander Arturo Reyes goes to the mound for State College tonight. Reyes makes his ninth appearance and sixth start this season, and each of his last two outings have been outstanding. The 40th-round draft choice from Gonzaga has allowed two runs over six innings in each of his last starts, earning his first career professional win against Williamsport on Wednesday. Reyes has not allowed an earned run on the road this year in two appearances.

-ANDERSON GETS BALL FOR CROSSCUTTERS: Right-hander Drew Anderson gets the start tonight for Willliamsport. Anderson allowed one run on four hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out three over four innings against the Spikes on Thursday. The 21st round draft choice of the Phillies in 2012 has faced the Spikes three times already this year, and has a 0-1 record with a 3.77 ERA in 14 1/3 innings. Anderson pitched for the GCL Phillies in 2012, going 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA.

-WASHINGTON NAMED NYPL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Major League Baseball Advanced Media announced on Monday that State College Spikes first baseman David Washington has been named the New York-Penn League's Player of the Week for the week of August 19-25. The 6'5" first baseman is currently hitting .277 to go with his team record ten home runs and league-leading 47 RBI, and leads the NYPL in intentional walks with seven. Washington's 33 walks overall also leads the league.

-SPIKE MARKS: Steven Ramos leads the NYPL in batting by 13 points over Jamestown's Adam Frazier (.354 to .341)...The Spikes lead the league in both batting (.276) and ERA (2.54)...LHP Ben O'Shea rejoined the Spikes on Saturday after being received from Peoria, and is slated to start on Wednesday
