Lowell, MA - The Lowell Spinners scored a big sixth inning, and it was enough to beat the Aberdeen IronBirds tonight, 8-2.

Aberdeen took the lead in the fourth inning. Trey Mancini hit a one out double and Conor Bierfeldt hit his second home run in as many games, giving the IronBirds a 2-0 lead.

Lowell would start slowly against Aberdeen starting pitcher Steve Brault. He was brilliant through four innings, allowing just two base runners- a hit batter and a fielder's choice.

The first pitch that Brault threw in the fifth inning, however, Danny Bethea turned into a home run, cutting the deficit in half and making it 2-1 Aberdeen.

Brault started the sixth inning for Aberdeen. He gave up a leadoff single and a one out walk. He was then pulled in favor of Williams Louico. Louico allowed three runs to score on an error, two walks, a fielder's choice, and a double, giving the Spinners a 6-2 lead.

Lowell added two more in the eighth off of reliever Michael Joseph, making the final margin 8- 2.

Brault takes the loss. He went 5.1 innings, allowing two hits, three runs (one earned), walking one and striking out four.

Aberdeen will send LHP Mitch Horacek out to the mound in the rubber match tomorrow.

Horacek will look for his sixth win of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
