
Cutters Fall In Extras

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
Williamsport opened the night where they left off on Monday, scoring the game's first run.
Herlis Rodriguez led off the bottom of the 1st for the Cutters with a double down the 1st base line past David Washington. Rodriuez would take 3rd base on a groundout by Andrew Pullin. Rodriguez would score on an infield single by Zach Green to make it 1-0 Cutters. For Green, it was his 37th RBI of the season.
After the 1st inning, both Drew Anderson and Arturo Reyes settled in and strated the starring contest. Before a walk drawn by Logan Pierce in the 4th inning, Anderson and Reyes combined to retire 20 straight batters.
State College would get even against Keivi Rojas and the Cutters bullpen in the 6th inning. Steven Ramos reached on a bunt single and then stole 2nd base. Brett Wiley would plate Ramos with a single up the middle to make it a 1-1 game.
Williamsport would retake the lead in the bottom of the 6th inning. Dylan Cozens doubled to get into scoring position to lead off the inning. Cozens would be plated by an Andrew Knapp single to center to make it 2-1 Crosscutters. Knapp would be thrown out trying to advance to 2nd base.
State College would take advantage of a leadoff walk surrendered by Mark Meadors in the top of the 8th inning. Brett Wiley tied the game with a RBI groundout to plate Matthew Young to make it 2-2.
State College would break the tie game in the top half of the 11th inning against Tyler Buckley. Carson Kelly delivered the go ahead hit to left field that scored Cesar Valera from 2nd base to make it 3-2. On the play, the ball would get by left fielder Samuel Hiciano that allowed David Washington to score and make it 4-2. Luke Voit capped the scoring with a RBI single to plate Kelly and make it 5-2 Spikes heading to the bottom of the 11th.
Williamsport posed a threat in the bottom of the 11th against Jacob Booden. Gustavo Martinez singled home Samuel Hiciano to cut it to a 5-3 deficit. The Cutters would leave two runners a board in the 11th inning against Jeff Rauh who closed the game out for the Spikes to get his 5th save.
With the loss the Williamsport Crosscutters have been eliminated from the New York-Penn League Playoff contention.
