Starters Announced for MSHCA Boys and Girls High-School All-Star Games

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Sharks (@WorcesterSharks), proud American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announced today the starters for the Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches Association High School All-Star Games presented by Shriners, on Saturday, March 22 beginning with a 1:45pm start for the girl's game followed by a 4pm puck drop for the boys at the DCU Center. The All-Star Games will feature the state's top 92 high school senior boys and girls from MIAA schools, as selected by the MSHCA.

Over 13,000 votes were tabulated for the 24 starting positions for the MSHCA High School All-Star Games presented by Shriners which will be held before the Worcester Sharks host the Hersey Bears on Saturday, March 22 at 7pm.

The 2014 Starting Lineups are listed below;

North Boys' Starters:

- Jim Currier (Forward) St. Johns Prep

- Chris Page (Forward) Winthrop HS

- Tyler Sifferlen (Forward) Malden Catholic

- Anthony Calabro (Defense) Newton North HS

- Brendan Leach (Defense) Austin Prep

- John Liquori (Goalie) Springfield Cathedral HS

South Boys' Starters:

- Tyson Araujo (Forward) Martha's Vineyard HS

- Joseph Correia (Forward) Dartmouth HS

- Jack Sheehan (Forward) Norwood HS

- Alex Radcliffe (Defense) Brockton HS

- Sam Topham (Defense) BC HS

- Mario Pizzeri (Goalie) St Johns HS

North Girls' Starters:

- Brittani Lanzilli (Forward) Medford HS

- Emily Lissner (Forward) Woburn HS

- Ryley Costello (Defense) Reading HS

This will be the 5th annual boy's All-Star game and the 2nd year for the girl's game. Admission to the MSHCA High School All-Star Games presented by Shriners will be $11 in advance and $16 at the door, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston.

Five previous MSCHA All-Stars have been drafted by NHL clubs;

- Brian Pinho (St. John's Prep - 174th pick by Washington in 2013)

- Chris Leblanc (Winthrop HS - 161st pick by Ottawa in 2013)

- Sam Kurker (St. John's Prep - 56th pick by St. Louis in 2012)

- Brendan Collier (Malden Catholic HS - 189th pick by Carolina in 2012)

- Colin Blackwell (St. John's Prep - 194th pick by San Jose in 2011)

Doors will open at 1:30pm on March 22. The girl's All-Star game will begin at 1:45pm followed by the boy's game at 4pm. A ticket to the All-Star games will also allow fans to attend the Sharks' match versus the Hershey Bears that evening at 7pm.

About the Shriners Hospitals for Children - Springfield

This hospital recently completed a $2 million renovation to its outpatient department to accommodate the growing trend in outpatient activity. After several years of planning, the project was executed in February 2009, with the end result being additional modernized space needed to handle 20,000 clinic visits annually.
