Lincoln, Neb. - Lincoln forward Ludvig Hoff notched three points en route to the Stars' fourth straight win as they beat the Madison Capitols, 5-2, in front of a sellout crowd at the Ice Box on Saturday.

The teams combined for four goals in the opening period.

Hoff opened the scoring at 11:06 of the first, but Capitols forward Alexandre Payusov tied the game, 1-1, less than one minute later.

Lincoln closed the period with two unanswered goals. Forward Grant Jozefek scored on the power play, then Biagio Lerario made it 3-1 at the first intermission.

Madison cut the Stars' lead twenty seconds into the second period with Payusov's second of the night.

Forward Carson Gicewicz picked up his third goal of the season at 1:44 of the period. Hoff scored his second of the night 14:33 of the frame, giving the Stars a 5-2 advantage.

Neither team scored in the third period, giving Lincoln their fourth straight win.

Peyton Jones finished the game with 30 saves and Patrick Polino had two assists to earn his 100th USHL point.

The Stars are back in action Friday, February 5 against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm.
