Stars Team Up With Tana Goertz For Apprentice Hockey League

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Stars today announced details for the Apprentice Hockey League challenge which is set to kick off on Friday, January 11th at the Iowa Stars game versus the Milwaukee Admirals.

The Apprentice Hockey League challenge will involve approximately 20 contestants competing in 3 separate tasks throughout the remainder of the Iowa Stars season. Each task will require contestants to utilize sales and marketing strategies to successfully complete each mission. Tana Goertz, who is best known as a finalist in the hit reality TV shows 'The Apprentice' and 'Fear Factor', will facilitate each task and choose the winners for the competition. Coach Tana is a resident of the Des Moines area and as an Iowa Stars season ticket holder, a big fan of hockey!

The Iowa Stars invite fans at the game on January 11th to sign up to be a contestant in the competition. Each person wishing to participate in the Apprentice Hockey League challenge must complete a questionnaire at the game in order to be considered. Finalists will be chosen by Tana Goertz and notified via email by January 16th.

Upon completion of the first task, the number of contestants will be cut to five and following the second task, Tana will choose the final two contestants to be announced on February 25th. The final showdown between the chosen contestants will take place the night of April 4th at the Stars Fan Appreciation game versus the Peoria Rivermen. The winner of the Apprentice Hockey League challenge will be announced at the Stars final home game of the season on April 8th.

The winner will receive 4 season tickets for the Iowa Stars 2008-2009 season, 8 tickets in the Stars suite to see Bon Jovi, 2 airline tickets including hotel for 2 nights/ 3 days, a package from Plaza Dental, gift certificates to several area restaurants, a Bedazzler and much more to be announced in the coming weeks. The runner up in the competition will receive 2 season tickets for the Stars 08-09 season.
