LINCOLN, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars (8-11-1) played a complete game against the Fargo Force (15-9-2) at the Ice Box on Saturday night, winning 4-0.

Jack Horbach lit the lamp 58 seconds after the opening puck drop, scoring his third goal of the year off a give-and-go feed from Nick Nardecchia. Jack O'Leary picked up the secondary assist on Horbach's goal.

Dominic James dropped the mitts and fought Kyle Smolen following Austin Wong's hit on Zach Urdahl at 9:26.

James Stefan added his third goal of the year at 12:57, stealing a puck in the neutral zone before sniping glove-side on Brennan Boynton for a 2-0 Stars lead. Stefan's goal was unassisted.

Following the first period, Lincoln led 2-0, killed off two penalties and controlled the shot totals 6-3.

In the second period, Nikolai Mayorov capitalized on a Fargo penalty, potting his third goal of the season at 1:58. It was Mayorov's first power-play goal this season following a 2019-20 campaign which saw him total seven goals on the man-advantage with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Urdahl and Dalton Norris were credited with the helpers.

Fargo fired eight shots in the middle frame to Lincoln's six, but the Force were held scoreless through 40 minutes.

James scored his third goal in as many games at the 6:31 mark of the third period, following a great passing sequence with Urdahl. James' fifth goal of the season made it 4-0; Tony Follmer notched the secondary assist.

Ryan Ouellette stopped 15 of 15 Fargo shots, completing the first shutout for the Stars since November 11th, 2018 and first of his career.

Boynton made 12 saves on 16 shots in the defeat. Lincoln's penalty kill was a perfect 3-for-3 and the power-play was 1-for-5.
