
Stars Shine over Lancers in Shootout, 3-2 Final Score

Omaha Lancers News Release
Ralston, NE - The Lancers faced off against the Lincoln Stars on Friday night for the seventh time this season. Omaha came into the game looking to snap back from a three-game skid. The Lancers called on Zach Driscoll to play between the pipes. Driscoll is ranked third in the USHL among all goalies with a 1.93 GAA and a .932 SV%.
The first goal of the game came in the second period when Collin Peters scored on the power play for the Stars. Lincoln held the 1-0 lead into the second intermission.
In the third period, Filip Suchy got the Lancers on the board on the power play. Later in the period, Michael Maloney scored on a breakaway. Lincoln answered back a minute later to tie it up 2-2 to force overtime.
After a scoreless extra frame, the game went to a shootout. Dominick Mersch and Paul Cotter both scored on Driscoll to take the 3-2 win over Omaha.
Zach Driscoll stopped 30 of the 32 shots that he faced.
The Lancers are now 31-14-2-2 and are now in second place in the USHL Western Conference with 66 points.
