
Stars Post Record-Setting Night with 8-2 Win Over Chicago

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars (8-6-0-0, 16 points) defeated the Chicago Wolves (6-10-1-0, 13 points) 8-2 on Tuesday in front of 4,699 fans at Cedar Park Center.
Texas broke three team records in the lopsided win, including five power-play goals and six second-period goals. Right wing Tomas Vincour scored two of the team's record setting eight goals. Seven different forwards lit the lamp for the Stars and all but two skaters picked up a point as the team improved to 5-4-0-0 on home ice. Defenseman Dan Spang and forward Fabian Brunnstrom each picked up three assists as Texas handed Chicago its sixth straight defeat. Center Travis Morin (1g,1a) and right wing Ray Sawada (2a) also enjoyed a multi-point night as the Stars improved to 3-0-0-0 against Chicago this season. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (3-2-0) stopped 26 shots in the win. Chicago goalie Drew MacIntyre (0-3-0) stopped 21 of 28 shots in the loss and was pulled after 40 minutes of play. Texas will play in Oklahoma City at 7:00 pm on Friday night.
The Wolves tallied the first goal of the night at 6:52 as Akim Aliu gave Chicago a 1-0 lead. Texas tied it 1-1 with 5:29 remaining in the first period, as Greg Rallo scored a shorthanded goal. Wolves' left wing Frederick Pettersson helped Chicago reclaim a 2-1 lead with 2:27 left in the period, scoring his third goal of the season.
The Stars tied the game 2-2 early in the second with a power-play goal by Francis Wathier at 7:51, marking his sixth goal of the season. Just 39 seconds later, the Stars took to a 3-2 lead after Fabian Brunnstrom set up Travis Morin's fifth goal of the year. Stars forward Luke Gazdic extended the lead to 4-2 with his first goal of the year at 12:36. Texas capitalized multiple times on a five-minute major power play whistled to Chicago's Andre Deveaux at 14:08. Right wing Tomas Vincour scored his first pro goal with 4:54 left in the second period to make it 5-2 Texas. The Stars made it 6-2 just 43 seconds later, as forward Mathieu Tousignant notched his third goal of the year at 15:49. Stars center Aaron Gagnon rounded out the scoring with his third goal of the year at 17:38, giving the Stars a 7-2 lead over the Wolves.
Tomas Vincour scored his second goal of the night with 1:41 left in regulation for the 8-2 final score.
Texas travels to Oklahoma City on Friday, November 19th at 7:05 pm to take on the Barons. The Stars will host the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 20th.
