CLEVELAND - The Lake Erie Monsters shut out the Griffins 3-0 Wednesday night at the Quicken Loans Arena, tying the season series 1-1, but the two teams will meet up again in Grand Rapids on Saturday for the third game in two weeks.

Tonight's game against the Monsters (7-7-1-2) wraped up a three-game road trip for the Griffins (8-5-0-3), as they will return to Grand Rapids for a home ice stretch during which they'll play 16 of 22 games between Nov. 19 and Jan. 5 at Van Andel Arena. The stretch will begin Friday, when the Griffins host the Houston Aeros at 7 p.m.

The Monsters scored all three goals during the first period. Ray Macias began the scoring frenzy for Lake Erie, with a power play goal at 3:19, followed closely by Mark Olver, who scored a pair of goals at 7:35 and 16:50 of the period.

Following Lake Erie's third goal, Thomas McCollum was pulled in favor of Jordan Pearce, who was perfect through 43:09 of action by stopping all 14 shots he faced. McCollum meanwhile, made 11 saves through 16:51 of time in the crease.

Monsters' netminder Jason Bacashihua made 29 stops to earn the shutout, as the Griffins suffered their first regulation blanking of the season (1-0 shootout loss, Nov. 10 vs. MIL).

Three Stars: 1. LE Bacashihua (29 saves); 2. LE Olver (2 goals); 3. LE Zanoski (2 assists)
